PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
One Standard, Many KSB Pumps: Buying the Right Seal Once
KSB builds its Etanorm, Etabloc, MegaCPK and Multitec pumps around a standardised seal space defined by EN 12756. This helps buyers, because one seal design can serve several pump families, so a plant running mixed KSB equipment can often hold fewer spares. Our seal is built to the same standard, so it goes into the existing seal chamber with no changes to the pump. The main choice is between balanced and unbalanced. Unbalanced suits clean water duty at moderate pressure. Balanced handles higher pressure and tougher fluids. A double seal, run back-to-back or in tandem with a quench, is used where leakage must be contained. Fitting is straightforward. Clean the shaft sleeve, seat the stationary ring squarely, slide the rotary unit into place and remove the setting clips once the gland is tight. Our blog has a short guide to choosing between the 5A, 5B and double seal arrangements.
