Safe Sealing for Aggressive Chemicals in Lined Pumps

Fluorolined pumps handle the harshest fluids in a plant, such as strong acids, caustic and solvents. A seal that cannot take the chemical fails fast, and a leak here is a safety and environmental problem, not just a repair. Most early failures come from the wrong face or elastomer material, dry running, or a seal that does not match the original size. Our fluorolined pump seal uses a PTFE bellow, so no metal part touches the pumped fluid. It is made to the original fitting dimensions and goes into the existing pump without modification. Fitting is simple. Clean the shaft, seat the stationary ring squarely in its housing, set the rotary unit to the correct working length, and tighten the gland evenly. The Silicon Carbide faces resist chemical attack and wear far better than ordinary face materials. The result is a longer seal life and fewer chemical leaks.
