On a refinery or chemical plant, a leaking seal on a Flowserve pump can mean a safety risk and an unplanned shutdown. Most early failures come from poor flushing, dry running, or a seal that does not match the original dimensions. Our Flowserve pump seal is made to the original fitting dimensions, so it goes into the existing stuffing box without any modification to the pump. Fitting is simple. Clean the shaft and sleeve, seat the stationary ring squarely in the gland, set the rotary unit to the correct working length, and tighten the gland evenly. The carbon rotary face is paired with a hard Silicon Carbide stationary seat. This pairing handles hot, mildly corrosive and slightly abrasive fluids, and keeps leakage low through long duty cycles.
