Agitator Seals

Bottom Entry Agitator Mechanical Seal

  • Mounted below the vessel, shaft enters from underneath
  • Compact housing, lighter support requirements
  • Full liquid head assists face lubrication
  • Suits vessels with limited headroom above
  • Compatible with wet-running face types
  • Common in gravity-fed and bottom-drive tank designs
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A Practical Fit for Space-Constrained Vessel Layouts

A bottom entry agitator seal flips the usual mounting logic — the shaft and drive sit beneath the vessel rather than above it, which frees up headroom on top of the tank for other fittings, platforms, or overhead equipment that a top-mounted drive assembly would otherwise crowd out. Because the seal sits at the bottom of the vessel, the full liquid head above it works in the seal's favor, maintaining consistent face lubrication as long as the tank stays reasonably filled, which is part of why this configuration pairs well with wet-running face designs. Fitting one means securing the housing to the vessel's bottom flange, feeding the shaft up through the seal bore, and confirming alignment before the drive assembly is coupled below — a sequence that demands careful support of the shaft weight during installation since gravity works against you rather than for you.
