Teflon (PTFE) Products
PTFE is the material you reach for when nothing else survives — it resists virtually every chemical, acid, and solvent a process can throw at it, and it keeps working from cryogenic cold up to roughly 260°C, all without needing lubrication because of its inherently low friction. What it lacks is the springiness of a rubber elastomer: PTFE doesn’t flex back like Viton or Nitrile, so it’s shaped differently for each sealing role rather than used as a one-size-fits-all substitute. Mech Seal Engineering manufactures four PTFE component types — O-Rings, V-Packings, Bellows, and Gaskets — each machined or molded to suit static or dynamic sealing duty in highly corrosive, high-purity, or chemically aggressive service where elastomers would fail.
PTFE (Teflon) O-Rings
PTFE O-rings offer outstanding chemical inertness, handling aggressive acids, caustics, and solvents that would degrade standard rubber elastomers, along with a wide temperature range and excellent dimensional stability under load. Their non-reactive nature makes them a reliable choice wherever fluid compatibility is the limiting factor in seal design, particularly in chemical processing and pharmaceutical applications. We supply PTFE O-rings precision-molded to standard mechanical seal dimensions for direct fitment across our full seal range.
PTFE V-Packings
Chemically inert, self-lubricating, resistant to a broad range of aggressive fluids.

PTFE Bellows
PTFE bellows combine chemical inertness with flexible, spring-less sealing action, making them well suited to corrosive and crystallizing media where a metal spring or standard elastomer would fail. Their convoluted construction accommodates shaft movement and minor misalignment without relying on a separate secondary elastomer, keeping the design simple and resistant to fluid attack. We supply PTFE bellows precision-formed to standard mechanical seal dimensions for direct fitment across our Teflon bellow seal range.
