PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Sealing Without Liquid: When Dry Running Is the Requirement

Conventional mechanical seals rely on a thin film of the process liquid to lubricate the faces, which is exactly the assumption a dry running cartridge seal does away with — its non-contacting face geometry, typically cut with fine spiral grooves, generates a supporting film from a gas or air barrier instead, so the faces never touch and never depend on the pumped fluid for cooling. That makes it the right choice for reactors and vessels that run empty between batches, mixers handling powders or dry solids, and any application where seal-face lubrication from the product itself can't be guaranteed. Being cartridge-built, the whole pre-set assembly still installs as a single unit, keeping fitment as straightforward as any other cartridge seal despite the more specialized internal geometry.
